Wayne Francis Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Thurman (Wayne) Francis was born on December 6, 1937 to Thurman Sherwood and Tansy (McManus) Francis in Henryetta, OK. He passed from this life into the presence of our Lord January 8, 2012 at his home in Bartlesville,OK. Wayne graduated from Henryetta High School in 1955 and on December 7, 1956 married Doris Buzan in Henryetta. They were married for 55 years. Wayne began working for Pittsburgh Plate Glass while in high school working as a glass cutter until 1971. Later he worked for Hardning Glass in Tulsa from 1974-1990 and was also owner of Francis Glass in Henryetta. He retired in 2002. Wayne was active in civic affairs in the Henryetta community serving on the city council and as mayor. Wayne was saved and baptized at the First Baptist Church in Henryetta as a youth. Later he became active in the music ministry in several churches in the Muskogee, Okmulgee and Henryetta area. He loved listening to and singing Southern Gospel Music. At his death he was an active member of the Virgina Avenue Baptist Church in Bartlesville where he had moved 3 years ago. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents. Survived by his wife Doris of the home, Three children: Debbie Ausbrooks and husband DeWayne, Randy Francis and Patti Custer and husband Donny. By Ten grandchildren: Melissa, Danny and Rocky Ausbrooks; Megan and Derrick Francis; Amy (Riddle) Josh, Jeremiah, Ashley and Josiah Custer. Three Great Grandchildren; Cooper and Brylee Ausbrooks and Isaac Riddle. He is also survived by two sisters;Sharon Dyer and husband Jerry and Jeabe Gardner. One Brother Donnie Francis and wife Shirley. Family will be receiving friends from 6:00-8:00 Tuesday evening at the Rogers Funeral Home. Services are set for 10:30 am, Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at the First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery.
