Michael Slayback

Henryetta resident Michael I. Slayback passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2011 following a lengthy illness. Slayback was born on November 27, 1951 in Batesville, Indiana to Irvin G. Slayback and Theresa Marie Eckstein Slayback. He was a draftsman by trade. He was employed until March 31, 2011 by the Mehlberger Brawley Company as a construction inspector for the new City of Henryetta water system . He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Ann Slayback, Henryetta; his parents, Theresa and Irvin Slayback, Lawrenceburg IN; a brother Tim Slayback and sister-in-law Sue, Aurora, IN; a sister Pamela Kaiser and brother-in-law Robert, Rising Sun, IN; a son, Michael and wife Sarah, Lawrenceburg, IN; daughter, Angela Erfman and husband Eric, Knoxville, TN; daughter Andrea Merkel and husband, Jeff, Greendale, IN; stepdaughter, Kim Perkins, Henryetta; stepson Russ Justus and wife, Bonnie, Ft. Worth TX; stepson Gerald Duran Oklahoma City, OK; Grandchildren Zavyn Slayback, Adryenne Slayback, Ashley Hickman, Ethan and Rylan Erfman and Seth and Ava Merkel; six step-grandchildren: Brittany and husband, Jaytee, Whitney, Dakota and one step-great grandson Remington; step grandson Damian, step granddaughter, Alie and step-grandson Brandon, Hawaii; also numerous nieces and nephews. Other survivors include sister-in law, Florence James and her husband John, Dustin; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Corley, Henryetta. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Immanuel Baptist Church Youth Program. Rogers Funeral Home of Henryetta is in charge of arrangements. There will be no funeral service.
