Don Wittman

Don was born in Blackwell, Ok on April 7, 1937 to Johnny and Myrtle Wittman. He went to grade school in Henryetta and high school in Okmulgee. He joined the Air force in 1955 and was discharged in 1959. Don married Jean Sutton on August 17, 1959 and had two girls, Brenda and Debbie. He was a reserve police officer for the Okmulgee Police Department, worked at American St. Gobain and Ball Brothers in Okmulgee. They moved to Henryetta in May of 1973 and worked as a pipefitter for a few years. He then bought a welding shop in 1981 so he would have a place to play dominos with his friends. In 1995 he bought some longhorn cattle and between work, church, cows, fishing, hunting and don’t forget playing golf he kept pretty busy. He always had time to play with Shawn, Cody, Ashley and Brent, the Grandkids. He enjoyed fixing breakfast for church camp and seeing his family and friends. He attended the General Assembly and Church of the First Born and was baptized on March 26, 1950 by Brother George Sweet. One of Don’s favorite pastimes was reading western books by Louis L’Amoure He is survived by his wife Jean having celebrated 52 years of marriage. Daughters; Brenda Keys and her 2 sons, Shawn and Cody and wife Jessi. Debbie and husband Jerry Boyles and their daughter Ashley and son Brent. His brother Royce and wife Sally, niece; Kelly and 2 nephews Drew and Kyle. Graveside service will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, April 10 at the New Senora Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
