Claude E Pitchford Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Claude M. Pitchford, 78, of Henryetta, Oklahoma passed away March 7th, 2014 from cancer. He was born to the late John and Ennis Pitchford, December 7th 1935, in Lincoln, (Okfuskee) Oklahoma. Claude graduated from Borger high school in Bolger, Texas in 1953. He moved to California in the early 1960’s. He married Carol Cunningham in 1969 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He later moved to Malta to work in the oil fields for two years. After returning to California, he worked for several electronic companies then at Hughes Aircraft in the satellite division. Claude retired from Hughes Aircraft in 1997. He moved to Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma in 1997 buying a house on the lake. He finally settled down in Henryetta, Oklahoma. You would usually him find in the garage working on his cars; working in the yard, or simply just tinkering around the house. He was a very kind and gentle man and one of the hardest working people around. He eventually lost his battle with cancer but went down fighting by enduring several chemo and radiation treatments and even surgeries in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I know Claude would like to thank his wife; Carol for staying by his side through the years and at this most difficult time in their long 44 year marriage. She drove him to Tulsa for all the many cancer treatments and was at his bedside when he passed away. Claude is survived by his wife Carol (Cunningham) Pitchford and his four children: Bill, Phyllis ( Lacky), Claude, and Mark Pitchford. He also had seven grandchildren.
