Carol A. Pitchford, 68, of Henryetta, Oklahoma passed away July 30th, 2016 in her home. She was born to the late Charles and Madelyn Cunningham, December 28th 1947, in Detroit, Michigan. Carol graduated from Louisville high school in Woodland Hills, California in 1965. She married Claude Pitchford in 1969 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She later moved to Malta where Claude worked in the oil wells for two years. After returning to California, she worked as a supervisor in a manufacturing plant until retiring in 1997. She moved to Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma in 1997 buying a house on the lake. Carol was an avid animal lover and acquired and cared for several different types of animals on her property to include horses, dogs, cats, ducks, parrots, and chickens. She finally settled down in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Carol worked hard in anything she took on to include her hobbies after retirement. She got into crafting a variety of items to include knitting, quilting, and embroidery. Caring for her variety of animals also took up much of her daily routine. She worked hard for what she got and was happy in retirement. She was at her husband's side taking care of him when he was struck with cancer driving him to Tulsa several times for the chemo and radiation treatments and even surgery. The loss of her husband and partner in life after a 44 year marriage was extremely difficult for her. Soon after Claude's passing she had to endure and battle her own medical challenges only this time she would have to deal with the many trips to Tulsa alone. Carol is survived only by her brother; Chip Cunningham and her sister Connie Cunningham. Rogers Funeral Home is handling the final disposition of Carol.
