Norma Black

Norma Lee Black, a resident of Henryetta, Oklahoma, passed this life on February 13, 2026, at the age of 87. She was born November 16, 1938, in Henryetta to Silas and Francis Black. “Norma graduated from Henryetta High School and was a member of science club, annual staff, librarian, Oklahoma Honor Society, FHA, and played the piano for “The Pepperettes.” She was also honored in the Henryetta newspaper for graduating with 12 years of perfect attendance. Norma retired from the American Exchange Bank after 15 years of service. She supported Kelly Swan’s homeless ministry in Tulsa as well as local people in need that crossed her path. At Christmas she would make several envelopes with money and a note, “Jesus loves you” and would hand them to people that tugged on her heart especially children in the toy aisle. Norma loved and fed the neighborhood stray cats for many years. She was very funny and a favorite pastime was trying on silly hats at the goodwill. She loved to laugh and be silly. She loved candy corn. Norma was a very strong and independent person whose health declined quickly over the past six weeks. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Memster is now in Heaven, reunited with her parents and all who went before her. Her wings were ready, but our hearts were not. The family would like to extend special thanks to the caring staff at Henryetta Community Skilled Healthcare and Rehab, as well as the Seasons Hospice care team She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Jeanie Summers; her brother-in-law, Glen Swan; and her beloved cat of 18 years, Angel. She is survived by her children: Jan Lamb and husband Tommie of Henryetta; Lori Maijub and husband John of Bearden; Teri Hold and Laurie Taylor of Austin, TX ; DeeAnn Favinger and husband Mike. Grandchildren: Jason Walters, Joshua Huggans, Jeremy Huggans and Erin Barker. She also leaves behind many great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Brother: Ron Black of Henryetta. Sister: Mary Swan of Henryetta. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Westlawn Cemetery. A family and friends gathering will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home. Norma will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
