Roley Fry

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Roley Fry, age 83, on October 7, 2023, in Dewar, Oklahoma. Roley was born on January 19, 1940, tp Sandy and Ella (Harjo) Fry in the Salem Community, and his life was a testament to unwavering faith, strong values, and dedicated service to his community. Roley was a devout follower of his faith and held the esteemed position of Deacon at Hickory Ground #2 being ordained on December 16, 1995. He was ordained a a pastor on November 15th, 2015 and served as the Pastor of the Yardeka Indian Baptist Church, where his spiritual guidance touched the lives of many. His commitment to his religious beliefs brought solace and strength to those who sought his counsel. He was appointed Tvstvnvke on luly 21, 1983, meaning war chief associated with the tribal stompgrounds. Roley worked diligently at State Wide Tree Services, until he retired, where he exemplified dedication and integrity. His tireless work ethic and expertise in the field left an indelible mark on his colleagues and the industry as a whole. One of his favorite places to eat and he frequented often was the "Classic Diner" Roley is survived by his beloved brother, Bobby Fry, and his wife, Roselyn Fry, of Okmulgee. He also leaves behind his sisters, Alice Fields and Martha Fry of Henryetta, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart. Notably, Roley considered his great niece, Chelsea Fry of Henryetta, and great nephew, Scudda Fry of Tahlequah, as his own children. A special enhesse, Galen Cloud. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sandy and Ella (Harjo) Fry, as well as his brothers, Buster, Johnson, and Sandy Fry. Roley also mourned the loss of his beloved sisters, Rosie Bruner, Lorriane Sumka, Netti Fry, Susie Harley, Anna Kelly, and Bertha Fry, who now rest in eternal peace. Roley will be taken to the home (1202 W 8th Street, Dewar,Ok) for visitation on Wednesday Oct 11 th at 4:00 pm. Thursday at 4:00 Roley will be at the Yardeka Indian Baptist Church for a Wake service at 7:00. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Friday, October 13, 2023 at the Yardeka Indian Baptist Church with Pastor Wallace Gambler and Pastor Mitchell Taylor, officiating. Interment will be at the Harjo-Fry Cemetery in the Salem Community, Services are under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home. Pallbeares will be Mike Hill, Sam Lee, Sandy Lee, Emmanuel "Big Boy" Fry. Michael Fry and Jerry Sumks. Honorary pallbearers wil be the Pastors and Former Pastors as well as the Oce vpofv Ground Warriors.
