History & Staff
We have years of experience caring for families, from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity.
When we sit down with a family, we have just one goal: to create a fitting, memorable and affordable service for their loved one. Together, we explore the wide variety of services and products available, as well as a wealth of creative ideas and suggestions.
Together, we'll design a memorial or funeral service that suits their needs now, and in the future. Families who come to us know that years from now, they will have deep peace-of-mind because in coming to us, they've done their best to honor their loved one.
Rogers Funeral Home opened its doors in 2000 and we’re now in our 16th year of serving the community. Our vision has always been to provide the highest quality, professional service, and to create deep trusting relationships with the families in our area.
Our Valued Staff
Shawn Rogers, Funeral Director/Owner
I started working for Steve and Sue Shurden in 1977. I left the area to attend college, and in 1982 I graduated from the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science. It was then at I returned to Shurden Funeral Home as a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, working there until 1999.
I opened Rogers Funeral Home in 2000, and have never had a moment to regret the decision. After all, I have lived in Henryetta my entire life, and carrying for the families here gives me a deep sense of purpose.
I married Lisa Cunningham, a second grade teacher of 29 years, who also is a lifetime resident of Henryetta. We've been married for 33 years, and have two children, Ross and Kaitlyn. Lisa and I attend the Henryetta First Baptist Church where I am a Deacon, and we both enjoy teaching the adult Sunday School Classes. My hobbies include woodworking, old tractors and family.
Lisa Cunningham Rogers now joins Rogers Funeral Home after retiring from the Henryetta Public School System after 30 years of service. Lisa will assist her husband Shawn, in the caring manner in which all our families are served.
Lisa a Henryetta native and daughter of Bob and June Cunningham looks forward to this career change. Her caring nature and devotion to serving others will greatly enhance the personal touch provided at such a stressful time in their lives.
Bob Cunningham, Funeral Assistant
Bob Cunningham, who happens to be my father-in-law, assists on services and does nightly visitation. Many people remember him as owner of Bob's Men's Store. He truly is an icon in Henryetta, because it seems that everyone for the past thirty eight years has bought men's clothing there. For many families we serve, Bob's presence at funeral services is much like having an extended family member in attendance. He's a true comfort.
